Simple and Intuitive Use

Both of these pictures were taken in Kızılay. They are contradicting with the 3rd principle of the Universal Design. Building is too much crowded with signs, design of it is not simple although it should lead people. It is hard for people to find the entrance

Size and space for approach and use

Cars occupy the space which was supposed to be used by pedestrians; this eliminates the possibility of providing a comfortable space for the passage.

The low wall with the fender narrows the sidewalk with a sharp motion, and the tree next it adds to the limiting of the space that is provided for pedestrians, which contradicts with the principle, size and space for approach and use.

equitable use

By a sensible and proper design mutual respect can be promoted however, some roads are lacking sidewalk, which disregards the rights of pedestrians by destroying the space that was supposed to be provided for their use.

Billboards shouldn't be placed on pavements as they narrow the pavements, obstructing the passage.

Low Physical Effort

The stairs on a street near Filistin street are contradicting with the 6th principle of Universal Design. The edge of the stairs left too sharp and small so people should show more effort while climbing.

The pedestrian bridge at Libya street in Ankara is conradicting with the 6th principle of the Universal Design. Although it has a ramp for old, handikapped and unhealthy people, it lacks stairs for people who can climb up stairs. People who want to climb up to the pedestrian bridge are forced to walk through the ramp which is quite long.

tolerance for error

The edges of stairs and walls shouldn't be left sharp. As these sharp edges resemble to scarps, they may give rise to dangers and hazards.

The manhole, approximately equal with the size of a foot may cause injuries.

Another Non-Designed Route

Another area which doesn't seem to have a design which helps the cars to follow.
The road is even lacking the traffic lines. The runoff is tried to be provided with some ridiculous skittle-kind things in such an important point! The cars have difficulties in finding their appropriate route which generally leads to another chaotic situation.

Other similar points need to be designed before in a proper and reasonable way so that we, as citizens, don't come across the chaotic environments...

Indefiniteness of the pedestrian - vehicle traffic

As it is seen in these examples, there exists a chaotic situation...
Pedestrians are afraid of crossing over the street and the area doesn't seem to have any order in terms of both the pedestrians and vehicles.

If there was a specification for pedestrians to cross over the street, in other words, if there was any arrangement or any perceptible information arranged for pedestrians, the woman below wouldn't have to be running in a scared way!
